Patience, self-control and consistency: these are but a few of the many characteristics that Master George Rohozneanu teaches his students at his martial arts studio and fitness centre. What makes him such a charismatic individual and instructor, however, is his ability to incorporate those characteristics in his own life as well.
Master George grew up watching Bruce Lee movies. From a young age, he learned from his childhood heroes and mentors to never give up. And he carried that same mentality and vision to his students, helping them achieve their goals and become more in tune with their mind, body and spirit.
Master George’s martial arts career began with judo, but quickly moved towards many other forms of the sport such as wrestling and tae kwon do. Before moving to Canada in 1981, he competed both nationally and internationally in his native Romania. In 1992, his passion for the sport inspired him to open his own martial arts centre in Richmond Hill, Ont. “I have a lot of passion for this. And I choose to do something I love,” he says. Since then, Master George has taught self-defence in the Canadian military, has accomplished his 8th degree black belt, and is an international instructor, examiner and referee.
