Jodi Konick, owner and operator of Curiosity Children’s Centre, had been working in the child-care industry for years, but when she had children of her own, she had a hard time finding a local daycare centre that would take both her kids. “Most daycares in the area offer services for toddlers and infants or school-aged children, not both,” Jodi says. “Since I have a background in child care myself, I decided to open a daycare centre that kept families together.”
The result is Curiosity Children’s Centre, a local daycare centre that offers programs and services for newborns all the way up to children aged 12 years old. The model is designed with busy, commuting parents in mind. “In addition to our services for infants and toddlers, we’ll also pick up and drop off school-aged children at their schools,” Jodi says. “That way, parents can keep all their children at the same place. I know most want to get home as soon as possible after the work day, so this saves them a bit of time.”
