Perfect 10's all around for the Pennywhistle pub. This place is getting quite a reputation in the area for it's Indian menu. The location offers an all-you-can-eat curry buffet ($10.95 - Thursdays), but unfortunately only from Sept-June. We still went and ordered chicken & lamb curry from the Indian menu, which is about two-three pages long. The British curries at Pennywhistle are to die for. We were craving curry when we went and were totally satisfied with the offerings. The portions were huge, large chunks of meat in the dish. Price was $9.95, I believe, and well worth it. Also, I ordered medium spice and found the dish to be somewhat hot, so be cautious if you are a fan of the mild side. Service was awesome as usual. These guys are always do a fantastic job of taking care of their customers.

I come here sometimes as much as twice a week for lunch. I work downtown so it is convenient but there are many alternatives to choose from... however, this place wins hands down. The food is always good. The Indian menu especially. The service is excellent, attentive and friendly without being phony. I like the atmosphere too. It is a roomy place where you can find a quiet place to read or have a private conversation without feeling you needed to move on quickly as they need the table or that the people next to you can hear everything you are saying. Can't say enough good things about this place. I'll be going there for years.

I come in with friends about twice a week and always leave full and happy. The Thursday night Curry Buffet is great, giving different dishes each week. A large variety of taps, great service, friendly staff.

The Penny Whistle has long been a favourite of my...

The Penny Whistle has long been a favourite of my friends and I. This pub, which is classically British, has a wonderful appeal to it that keeps us coming back for more. Also sporting a wonderful dinner menu, and a spectacular Curry Buffet on Thursdays, the Penny Whistle is perhaps the best Pub in Guelph, and should be very proud of it!

Went there for a staff members birthday. I had fish 'n Chips as did my other 3 co-workers and it was excellent, no complaints! The tarter sauce was to die for! I was realy inpressed cause at the end of the meal the owner pulled my aside and handed me a piece of apple pie with a candle, for my co-workers birthday (the owner didn't charge me for the pie) Great restaurant, will be back for sure :)
