Place is cosy. Food is excellent both quantity and taste. Lunch for three would cost you around 35 bucks. Had lunch here when we visited Elora Gorge.
This place is disgusting and gross! Our table was dirty. The fish was undercooked and greasy. My son's hamburger was burnt and milk had an expired date on the carton. When I politely asked for another one, I got attitude back like it was too much trouble for them. So much for customer service too. I'll never go back to this dump.
I was there on a Thursday at noon. Had Haddock fish n' chips, small size. The place is pretty small (sits only 12 at 3 tables) but it was clean. Friendly staff. Rather slow. It took over 20 minutes to get my meal (there were only 3 customers in the place - and we all ordered the same). Seems it should be faster than that? I ordered the small size and I would call this more a kids size. One piece of fish (as expected) but just a small handful of fries. I would expect more for $8+. So, unless you're a kid - you better order a large. The fries were good (the few that I got). Fish was crispy and not greasy. Nice. There was a lot of batter so people who like a light batter would not be happy.
We are regulars here! Have been visiting for several years since we live and work close by. Best fish around! But not just the fish. Great homemade angus burgers...fresh fries. Lots to choose from. Usually take out, so tables aren't an issue, but there are only a few tables. Family owned and operated and it's always very friendly service. Terrific value for your money! $5 and $6 lunch menu also available.
Used to be a regular here but moved to Guelph and it was our first time back in quite a while. WOW! It's changed, very warm and inviting little shop and the menu now seems to have been expanded a fair bit. The halibut was as good as I remember it. It's a great reason to come in from Guelph to visit this place.
We almost missed this little place and are so glad we found it. I was so surprised at how much fish there was on the plate and I've never had better. My kid doesn't eat fish, but there was other stuff on the menu for him and the lady was very attentive towards him, which is great to see for a change.
Just LOVE this place. Nice little shop, clean, fast. I can't believe these prices, we've tried everywhere and it's just the best fish and really affordable. The fish is lightly battered and the fries aren't frozen, even my kid eats this fish. We'll be going there forever!!!!
We went in for Good Friday, BUSY PLACE!!! However it was hands down THE BEST place for fish place we've been to. My hubby doesn't like fish but he loved it here. Fries are tasty, home cut and the batter was really good. The staff was very friendly and polite. This place also has the best pricing I've seen for fish anywhere in the area, plus coleslaw's included which is a first.
Great place, fish was fantastic and the service was fast and friendly. We're going to be going there often. Lot's of different types of specials and fish to try.
Family pack is supposed to be for 4 people but it was enough for 3 adults and two young kids. Fast service, great food.
It was pretty good. Not sure what kind of fish is in it, haddock or halibut, but it wasn't greasy and the amount is great.
Surprisingly large portions for a very reasonable price. Their Friars special 1 at regular price and 1 at half price can't be beat for pricing, quantity and quality. They got the batter just right, not mushy or overdone. Service was good but the seating is a very small and simple area.
Simple little restaurant with a few eat in seats. The service was friendly and the portions were big, you won't go away hungry. Priced well for the portions you get. It is worth it to try the halibut.
Server was very short with us. Not too friendly. Food was greasy, but not the worst and portions were decent. Be prepared- this restaurant only takes cash!
Fish was so hard and dried up ie the coating was very hard and cold to boot, would never eat there again
