Dr. Davide Di Giovanni knows the key to helping people overcome their dental fears. "When patients realize I'm being honest with them, they become really comfortable," he explains. "My greatest satisfaction is when I see a patient snoring in my chair, especially someone who came in so phobic they couldn't even sit down. It all comes down to trust." Davide has been building relationships and earning patients' trust since 2000, and has owned the Newport Dental since 2006.
As a teenager, Davide showed artistic promise as well as a strong aptitude for science. Wanting to combine both strengths, he chose dentistry. "To me, dentistry is a piece of art," Davide insists. "I love the intricate details of doing beautiful work and dentistry still gives me a lot of opportunity to create with my hands."
His other passion, cooking, helped fulfill another dream – to own a pizzeria. Davide is co-owner of Port Moody's Spacca Napoli – and it just so happens that pizza contains a lot of nutrients that promote healthy teeth!
Even though Davide has a BSc in microbiology, spent two years in research in the dental field and earned a Doctor of Dental Medicine degree from the faculty of Dentistry at UBC, he continues to enhance his skills. To ensure the highest quality treatments are delivered to his patients, he maintains his member status at Arizona's Spear Education at the Scottsdale Center, one of the leading learning facilities for advancement in dentistry.
