“While we want to prepare children for kindergarten, we don’t force them to learn anything,” says Katrina Campos, lead teacher and music instructor at KinderVillage Preschool. “That way we can foster a sense of discovery in their education.”
Director and owner Virginia Sumalinog took over the preschool in 2012, and Katrina came on board in September of 2014 as the school was shifting its focus and direction. Katrina, along with two other instructors, Brett Fawcett and Andie De Guzman, created an inclusive environment where all the children learn through play and aren't pigeonholed into any kind of ideal. Half of the preschool is devoted to a play centre, and the other half has focused areas for music, drama, art and reading.
