Hair By Louise

Louise Cugun knew she was destined to be a hairstylist. “I got into beauty culture through high school, thinking I would do makeup. But I ended up doing hair,” she says. Louise went to a hairstyling competition to watch beauty school students and told one of the teachers she would like to try her hand at it. She entered the competition and placed third, despite never having done it before. It was a great moment to discover her natural talent.

After working in several salons since the 1970s, Louise opened Hair By Louise in 1991 with her husband's encouragement. Located in the Forest Lawn neighbourhood of St. Albert, Louise looks forward to every day that she spends at her salon. “I love doing hair, she says. “I don’t call this work – I call it playing.”
