When Sam Sleeman opened the doors of Centrix Hair & Spa in 1991, he was already an established hair stylist in St. Albert. He started from scratch with just four stylists and the knowledge he gained from other salon owners. “I learned from other salons’ mistakes. I changed what I thought they were doing wrong. I took it very seriously,” recalls Sam.
Thanks to Sam's hard work and research, Centrix Hair & Spa has developed a reputation for consistent service. They never refuse service and never take an unscheduled day off. “I have to put in 12 hours a day to make sure the clients are happy when they leave the shop. I don’t work because of the money the shop brings in; I like to keep the customers happy because the money will take care of itself.”
The staff here are not pushy and aren’t more concerned about selling you something than actually doing your hair. “We concentrate on services more than on selling product. That’s what we are: a service-based business,” says Sam. “People believe in us. So we have created that trust and connection.”
