    Poor seamstress

    When I walked into the store I thought from the looks of the dresses that Svitlana would be a good business to deal with because she appeared to be so nice but boy were we wrong...her business management skills are lacking, as she cannot seem to fit appointments in properly (always has customers waiting for long periods of time) and makes false promises that items (my dress, my veil) will be done by a certain date and repeatedly has broken those promises, time and time again, we would go to her store in hopes that they would be complete and they weren't. The extra stress she adds to your important day is unnecessary. I wish I would have taken my business elsewhere when my original gut instinct told me to do so, after the first "I'll have it done in two weeks" was a lie. In the end, my dress wasn't completed by Svitlana, I had to take it elsewhere because she wasn't finished the week of the wedding and I could not trust her to do it since she had ample time to complete it (and the veil) to begin with. The second seamstress was shamed that another seamstress in her line of work would even do such a thing. The wedding itself was a huge success but my experience of the wedding dress alterations was something that I hope no bride will ever have to go through.

    Wedding Dress Nightmare

    I was overcharged for alterations that Svitlana did not complete (week after week of promises that she made that it "will be done next week"). I had to pay another seamstress to finish my alterations the _week of my wedding_ when I picked it up from Svitlana...with major alterations still needing to be done. She did not finish on time and left me witha an incomplete dress. She forgot about her appointments and on a few occasions made us wait in her shop for 1-3 hours while she finished the previous appointment. She even went so far as telling me how she was hospitalized and almost died from so much stress and hasn't had dinner with her family in months and is at her shop until late hours at night (her way of explaining why her work on my dress was not complete). Not to be insensitive, but that is not my problem if she overworks herself. My problem is that she can't complete her work because she takes too much on and still ends up charging full price for it! Though she was nice, she was just too unorganized. It was the worst experience of my wedding and no one should ever have to go through it.

    Hello We apologize for your bad experience at our establishment. We, as seamstresses, try our absolute best to make sure the customer leaves happy and have all of the work complete before the date, however, the customer does have a responsibility to us to communicate their wishes with plenty of notice and to behave in an appropriate and respectful manner while in our establishment. As well, it is very difficult, as seamstresses, to alter a dress when we are not informed of an individuals desire to lose a significant amount of weight. In this case, the dress had to be altered down 3 sizes from the original ordered size in three months with no notice. We do our absolute best to keep our appointments that are booked and to communicate with our clients of any delays and appointment changes that need to be made. We would be willing to discuss this with you personally to attempt to improve your perspective of our practices.

    Untrustworthy

    This seamstress made many false promises over the course of almost 3 months that she had my dress that "your dress will be done next week", and the week before my wedding, there were still many things to complete, so I ended up having to take it to another seamstress. She ruined my wedding dress experience and caused me a lot of extra stress, then had the nerve to try and charge me full price. Her excuses were that she was 'overworked' and 'stressed' herself. I want others to know to take caution if you decide to use her services, and get an expected completion date and her quote in writing.
