Jackie Woodward has been underwriting mortgages since the mid-1980s. After first working in the banking industry, she became a licensed Mortgage Broker in 2012 and branded herself as the Mortgage Girl. She made the career change in order to help people navigate the rules and guidelines at different banks. “Each bank seems to have its own box for somebody to fit into, and people’s finances just aren’t like that,” Jackie says.
What separates Mortgage Girl from the rest, in her opinion, isn’t just her low rates, but also that she treats people the way she would want to be treated – with straight talk. “I’m successful because I’ve been doing it for 12 years and I get repeat customers all the time. They know I say it like it is and give ideas and feedback.”
