In 2014, Mirchi Restaurant co-owner Mohammed Javed decided to bring the concept of fresh halal food to the northeast corner of Calgary. Qila translates to “fort” and here you will find delicious escapes from common cuisine.
“The menu is similar to Mirchi but in a full dine-in setting,” Mohammed says. “The East Indian community is more concentrated in Northeast Calgary. I wanted to bring a different concept and menu to the area.”
At Qila Restaurant you will discover Pakistani food from all regions of the country, all halal and made fresh-to-order. “The Pakistani diet has great love for meat, so we have more meat dishes than Mirchi,” Mohammed says. “Our professional Pakistani chef has helped us perfect all the menu items to make a distinct Pakistani cuisine experience.”
