A home baker and mom, Janet Wong Ken opened Cookie Mama in 2010 and her homemade baking has been delighting the taste buds of busy Calgarians ever since. “I’ve always baked cookies, cakes and treats for my family’s lunchboxes. A combination of baked goods that we couldn’t buy at the supermarket,” reflects Janet. “And that’s really what our store is about: offering creative homemade baking using products you find in a common pantry. For people who don’t have the time or the desire to do it all themselves, we are their alternative.”
Using only natural ingredients, Cookie Mama and her team are busy in the kitchen every day, creating the most delicious baked goods for their customers. “We don’t buy mixes and prefer to use raw ingredients. We grate the carrots, juice the lemons, and all of that is part of our basic preparation. Salt and sugar are natural preservatives that we use sparingly so our products don’t have a long shelf life and are meant to be enjoyed fresh.” says Janet.
