My first visit to The Feathery was almost 4 years ago, along with my brother and sister in law, whom live in St. Catharines. Everytime I come back for a visit we find our selves back dining there. However, my experiences there this past week were a hit and miss on service. Last night we actually asked to have our server changed as the waitress that was assigned to us us terrible. We were luck to have Lucinda, whom served us several times this week, sometimes twice a day......yes my family lives close. I look forward to dining there again upon my return to St Catharine s in March of 2013.
This was my first time at the Feathery Pub. My friend has been here many times before and loves it. She was the reason we all decided to go here last night. Three of us arrived first. We were promtly greeted at the door and told that we could sit where ever we'd like. We decided on a spot that only seated four and figured we would just squeeze in because we didn't want to bother the servers and ask if we could push another table together. Once we were seated the server was over to ask us how many of us there would be so she could bring us menus and got us drinks right away. When she found out there would be five of us she was very accomidating and without us asking her she offered to pull another table over or bring us an extra chair to cap the end. That was nice. After a bit when our friends hadn't arrived yet she checked on us again to see if we'de like anything like an appetizer while we waited. She was nice and attentive. Our other guests arrived and she was quick to come over to get them started with drinks as well. She checked on us in a bit but we still needed more time because everything sounded so good on the menu! And according to our friend who has been here before everything is good! lol I decided on the Perogies. They were served with fried onions and bacon and a side of sour cream. Mmm! So good! One friend got the Calabrese Bruchetta. She said she really enjoyed it. A couple friends each got a pizza and shared so they could try both because it was so hard to decide. They got the Perogie Pizza and the Tuscan Garden Pizza. The pizzas both came out looking nice and golden brown and yummy. They said they enjoyed the Pizzas. And our other friend got the British Club Sandwhich and upgraded her side to Sweet potato Fries. You know its good when it comes out looking perfectly golden brown and there's SOOO many Sweet Potao Fries and there's not a bite left in the end lol ( we find most places charge you to upgrade to Sweet Potato Fries but it's never really worth the money when you see the small portion size they give you but at the Feathery I was impressed with the porttion size! Definately worth the upgrade!) We all really enjoyed the food. When we first walked in, the place wasn't what we had expected, but by the time we left it had totally grown on us and we really enjoyed the atmosphere! And our server was nice and attentive. Overall a great first experiance and I will definately be back to try all the other things on the menu that looked and sounded sooo good!
The food was tasty, the service great and the atmosphere pleasant. I will definitely be going back. Hopefully next time around we won't be charged for drinks not ordered.
The food is delicious, the atmosphere is perfect and the staff are very polite and efficient. We always come back for the nachos! Sometimes the homemade soup of the day is amazing as well.
I don't think that I have ever been so happy to eat in a pub! my boyfriend and I where just looking for a bite to eat before grocery shopping and stopped in. I ordered the Steak and Mushroom Guinness Pie, and I don't think I've been so pleased. Service was a little slow with the drinks but the food was great and my boyfriends steak was good as well. Order the grilled veggies as a side, they where awesome as well. Portions are more than generous to top it off :)
