Motel treatment at premium hotel rates

The Riotel Bonaventure is just a motel in a great location with premium hotel rates. I was travelling with 2 girlfriends and arrived late on a hot July night. There was major construction on the street just outside which was not a problem, but in the dark we could not find the entrance to the hotel. (Note to Manager - just a sign planted in the sand would have sufficed as I almost took a half meter plunge off the embankment between the wrong 2 pilons through what I thought was the entrance!) On getting into the room we were assigned, we discovered that the air conditioner unit was not working. I called the front desk and was offered a fan, or told we could leave the patio door open and unlocked while we slept! I was also offered a 10% discount and breakfast. This for a motel room that we were being charged over $200 for!. I was not impressed. After arguing for a while we were offered the room next door which was suddenly available through a cancellation with a working air conditioning unit. Bonaventure, I will NOT be back anytime soon and ALL my friends and working colleagues including those in Quebec will know not to go near the Riotel Bonaventure.
