Our family planned to have a few hours of Christmas shopping together in beautiful downtown Stratford. Our last stop after the shops closed was the Annex Room for dinner. We wanted a 'sure thing' and we certainly weren't disappointed. Katey C. is the loveliest waitress ever! We'll keep coming back to this outstanding establishment.
Not particularly memorable either way... Good or bad. It was lunch and it was average.
As a local resident of Stratford, I have had the opportunity to eat at many restaurants in town, but The Annex is the best by far. The dining room is tastefully decorated and the view of the kitchen is an outstanding feature. The service is excellent: the staff are always attentive and personable (any server will help you if you have a question or a request). The food is fresh, local, and, of course, delicious. Whenever friends or family come to visit, I always recommend The Annex and it is always a hit. I go as often as I can and cannot speak more highly of this local gem. You will not be disappointed!
We arrived at The Annex Room with a reservation (highly recommended..there was a wait) we were warmly welcomed as we always are, we were celebrating our anniversary with 2 other couples, we had outstanding service and food once again. We love The Annex Room and have been going here for years! Thanks again for a wonderful evening
We are friends who don't get together often enough and knew our visit together needed a special place. We chose the Annex Room. We'd all been there before (separately) and wanted guaranteed good food and service. We weren't disappointed! Our waitress was a knowledgable young lady who took care of our every question and request. All around us people were having a wonderful time enjoying the food and beautiful decor. It's a pleasure to recommend this gem to anyone. The homemade sorbet and the peanut butter chocolate cheesecake are two must try desserts!
Pleasant & accomodating on the phone when making dinner reservations. Our Service was just ok - Packed house. Food & Food Presentation and Atmosphere top notch. Raved about the Beef Tenderloin. Good portion sizes, However, disappointed with the decaf coffee.(weak and did not taste fresh) Would I go there again? Absolutely. P.S Parking at a minimim. Parked at the Pharmacy down the road.
Our friends checked out the Stratford restaurant websites and based on the excellent reviews for the Annexe Room we booked a table for 5:30pm yesterday prior to enjoying (Shakespeare's The Tempest with Christopher Plummer at 8pm). We were more than impressed with the quality of the food and service as well as the atmosphere. As I looked around the room, I thought what a well-heeled group of pleasant looking patrons! There seemed to be a lot of regulars. Because it was so difficult to choose from the menu (too many great selections) we decided to share some dishes and our server was very accommodating. The Crunchy Thai Salad with a good helping of large Tiger Shrimp was mouth-watering and the hot sausage pizza delectable. Best pizza I have ever had in Canada! (lots of toppings). The men in our group said that the tomato soup as well as the local ales were outstanding! The iced tea was made from scratch. I enjoyed the red wine! Besides the very attentive and pleasant service from our waiter and other staff, I need to tell you of a 'beyond the call of duty' gesture... At 7:45pm we arrived at the beautiful Festival theatre along the banks of the Avon River when I noticed that my reading glasses were nowhere to be found (there was no way I would be able to read the programme even with a lot of squinting). Luckily I had requested a business card before leaving the Annexe and immediately called as I gathered I had left them sitting on our table. I indicated I was at the theatre and asked until when they were open that evening. Without hesitation, the girl on the phone said, "We will drive them over to you!" 5 minutes later a lovely young lady jumped out of a car and rushed over to me with my precious glasses! Now THAT IS SERVICE!! Thank you The Annexe Room! Guess where I will dine the next time I go to Stratford and needless to say I will tell everyone about this experience!
What I like about the Annex. Great atmosphere. The best service in town. But most important, they care about what they are putting on your plate. The food is hot, super tasty and the staff works very hard to ensure you are satisfied. If there is a problem they want to know and they want it fixed just as much as you do. We love it and it is our go-to place for any special occasion.
We have come to The Annex Room for 12 years since they have opened. We have always enjoyed the welcome back from both the kitchen and wait staff. The reason we have come year after year is because we are never disappointed! We celebrate our coming to Stratford with our friends and have never missed it at The Annex Room. The food is always fresh, hot and exceptional, the service is always very friendly and informed. Like I said we have been coming since they opened and it's a highlight in our trip to Stratford. Looking forward to our trip in the fall!!
