One of the worst breakfast places in St. Catharines! Pancakes that taste like cardboard withwatered down syrup that can't even help you choke them down. Eggs and bacon that is just BLAH (and who can't get those right?!). Service was garbage the last two times we were there. I gave Lester D's several chances, as I hate writing off a restaurant for what could have been a bad day. But unfortunately, I feel giving them a 2 star rating is being generous. Sorry!
One afternoon, my wife and I were free of the kids and visited this movie-themed restaurant for lunch. It has the appearance of being an overhauled 50s style diner, with some movie posters slapped on the walls. The atmosphere may be low budget, but the food is blockbuster. The menu is whimsical, and has some need twists to old favorites. There are several kinds of club sandwiches, amazing fresh burgers, and fantastic fresh-cut fries. The milk shakes are delicious, and the portions are big and make you really feel that you're getting value for your money. The other gem to this restaurant is the service. The staff are welcoming, know the menu, and make it a fun experience. We grabbed a takeout menu, and can't wait to return with the kids. If you're looking for great food at a reasonable price, definately visit!
This place has a big place my my heart. I love the diner atmosphere and diner food but I can still follow my weight watchers because their food is prepared fresh, yes even the fries. My husband loves the burgers because it is a real hung of fresh beef. Not a skinny patty between a oversized bun.
One of my fav's, the milk chicken on a pesto topped sandwitch. yummm. And breakfast is all day. A place that knows what basted eggs is.
The staff is sooo friendly they are like family. Great conversation and well knowledged in movies (reel diner) and even theater.
Oh love the chalk boards in the washrooms. always looking forward to read what is on them.

Lester D's is a wonderful place to go for any meal. This restaurant formally Wimpy's but changed when staff purchased it and renamed it has continued with a family tradition of great food along with an atmosphere that just begs you to return. The meals prepared at Lester D's are always done with care and with a flair for taste aimed to please. It is a restaurant we almost call our home away from home. The staff are always friendly, welcoming and you can tell they love doing the work they do. This family restaurant is owned and run by owners and you can almost always be greeted by the people who have a direct stake in how things are run there. Don't like something talk to the owner /manager right on the spot and they will make it right. I have never had anything there that was not of my liking. I go often and highly recommend it to everyone.
