The pizza and wings are very good. The main issue is their delivery. Ordered a party tray and wings. They told us it would be 45-60 minutes. The order arrived in 85 minutes. This is the second poor experience with delivery and Big Marcos. The delivery company informed us that it wasn't their fault and they are simply a deliver service. We called Big Marco's because the food was cold. They said they would give us 10% off our next order. For a $55 I expect more. Won't order again.
It took an hour to deliver, half the meal was missing, what wasnt missing was not exactly what I would call edible. When we called to say food was missing from our order I was put on hold by two people who just said "oh". Well done.
Excellent pizza and wings.
my friends and appreciate real Italian food. Big Marcos is that place. Pizza cooked the way it should hand rolled Gnocchi ( who does that?) the sauce is the best restaurant sauce i ever tasted. They even serve Morretti beer! we have been going for years and we will be back soon! great job!
Walked in and the greeter wasn’t that friendly and just said for 2 and walked away from us quickly. We were then informed that all the menu’s were in use so we would have to wait for one (I think they only have 10) My soda water came and was flat. My Caesar salad dressing tasted like someone put a whole bottle of black pepper in it. My wife’s house salad had rotten lettuce in it . My chicken Marsala was void of all flavor (like something you would feed a child…….sooooooo bad) My Wife’s Chicken parm was ok…I guess, they didn’t drain the pasta well and the sauce was all watery, wasn’t a great sauce to begin with. We told the server we were not satisfied. Manager came over and was less than professional in how he handled a disappointed guest. He took one entrée off the bill but was far from concerned about how to make it right with us so we would return again. The whole thing was just bad from start to finish, but I don’t think they will care; they were getting really busy when we left to my surprise, I guess people like lousy food.
I came to this place on Wednesday, and discovered a pasta bar buffet that runs weekly! Excellent price ($12.95 adult, $1 per year for children)The chef was most helpful, providing an excellent meal for my son, who is allergic to sunflower oil, as well as being professional and entertaining :) I will come here again, and bring my friends, as there's something for everybody! Thanks for a great experience.
i'm not sure what happen with the other people you have visited this place and them having a bad experienc, but i really beg to differ, my friends and i were there on the weekend (last Friday the 22 of January) and the place ws packed i mean packed like a can of sardines packed, the only bad thing i can say was that i had to wait 20 minutes for a table other than that the food was great. i had the prime rib with lobster my wife had the lasagna and the other couple with us had the della casa pizza(quatro stagnoni) i think thats how you say it, they loved it service was also something to brag about we had Ashely as our waitress, and let me tell you that girl knows how to do her job i don't think we had to ask her for anything, even with the place jammed she still manage to stay on top of pouring our wine for us. this place has been around for awhile and i think it will be around for awhile longer especially if they serve food and service like that ...
I am not sure what has happened to this place? It was a family favorite since the day it opened. We have been twice in the last several months and had a bad experience both times. While the atmosphere has not changed and the service is great the food is below average. Lasagna was still partially frozen, Italian soup was sour (bad). Seafood in rose sauce lacked flavor and there was not much seafood. The oil for the bread had bugs in the bottle UGH! Only one person at our table did not complain...he had Gnocchi. And what happened to the Parm that was always on the tables? Should have known something had gone wrong when we entered on a Friday night at 7:00 p.m. and the place was empty. Use to be a line up to get a table. Clearly we are not the only ones that have noticed the food here has seriously gone down hill. FAIL!
after 20 years they are still the best Italian restaurant around! family run Nona in the kitchen, great sauce and good price. keep up the good work
After reading all the bad reviews, I nearly chickened out, but as I had a gift certificate, I decided to keep an open mind. We were warmly greeted. Food was tasty and well presented. Atmosphere was nice, and the restaurant and washrooms were clean. Very attentive service. Reasonable prices. I don't know if we just hit it at the right time (Wednesday 1pm) We will return. No loud music, so we could have a conversation.
best sauce .authentic we had a party of 8 service was great my mom and dad both enjoyed their gnocchi and veal. price was right. real Italian ! they serve Morretti beer wow
I have eaten at Big Marco's for a few businesses lunches and have had a great meal with wonderful service each time. They are friendly and accommodating with any menu changes we may have.
pleasant, welcoming
I can't remember who in our group recommended eating here, but they may be voted out of the group. Most of our group ordered panzerottis, which were large and largely unedible. One of the group ordered vegetarian and recieved almost nothing but meat. I had wings, which everone tried because they were the only tasty part of the meal. The server was a 20 something who appeared to want to be anywhere but serving us. She mixed up 4 orders as well. She did push the Sunday beer specials quite well though, which were the only reasonably priced item. Will not be returning.
This was my third visit here and my wife's first and definitely last time we bother coming here. The two times before the food was okay, but certainly nothing special. This time it was awful. I opted for the San Marco pizza, thinking that if I stuck to something this place is supposed to do well instead of opting for very mediocre pasta dishes, I'd be better off. Wrong! The pizza was overdone with dried out pieces of chicken. My wife's shrimp and scallop pasta dish was pitiful. Overdone pasta and only a minimal amount of seafood. Both meals came with house salad, which looked liked a bagged salad, drowning in dressing. The server was pleasant enough when we actually saw her. I guess the word is out about how lousy the place is because there was hardly anyone there. A sombre vibe in the place for sure. I've learned my lesson -- we'll stick to Cafe Amore down the road when we feel like Italian!
We dined at Big Marco's today for lunch and ordered a number of items off of their menu. The service was great, we cannot complain about that. However, when it came time to eating our rubbery calamari we spoke up. The waitress 'could not do anything about it' and therefore sent the manager/owner to speak with us. We stated that we did not enjoy it. We've eaten calamari before and it was not good at all. The manager would not do anything about it. He stated that he has been selling it for years. Needless to say - not only did he loose the 4 of us as customers that day - he also lost 80 additional people as we wanted to inquire about hosting an event there.
