You don't have to stay overnight to enjoy the restaurant. Great Food - Charming Inn
Port Stanley is a nice place to go for a beach day and every time I do go I make sure to stop in at the Kettle Creek Inn for either pub fare or fine dinning. Best chicken pot pie I have ever had and the perch and blackened pickerel are amazing. The beef tenderloin is fresh from Cumbrae farms and tastes it. The service there is great and the patio is beautiful. If you go to Port Stanley be sure to drop by the Kettle Creek inn no matter what your in the mood for.
My husband and I visited Port Stanley for our honeymoon. We stayed in the Kettle Creek Inn, which was itself disappointing. The restaurant was also disappointing. My salmon was dry and burnt, my rice had hard lumps of rice in it - as if it had come from the bottom of the rice cooker - and the service was deplorable. The waiter spent most of the evening chatting up the other couple in the room (the only other guests) and ignoring us. When I complained about my food, the waiter actually started to argue with me about the rice. It wasn't until I showed him the hard chunks in my rice that he took my plate and walked away. No apologies. He brought us our bill (with no adjustments to the cost for the atrocious meal) and then when he saw us getting ready to leave, hid in the front office until we left. There was nothing to do but laugh at this behaviour - it was really quite sad. We will not return, nor will we recommend the inn or the restaurant to our friends.
I give the Kettle Creek Inn two thumbs way up! Our service was something to talk about. Our server was a young, energenic and very personable. The setting was nice and had been nicer weather we could have sat outside under the beautiful gazebo. I will return every time I visit Port Stanley!
Very happy with my experience here. Great staff, innkeeper just lovely. Will be back in the summer to dine out on their gorgeous gazebo. Great wine list, something for every taste. Highly recommend the Kettle Creek Inn!
The service was very good and the meal was satisfactory. While the chicken was crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside and the squash gnocchi tasty but quite rich, I always find that the menu at this restaurant could use some more imagination. People who just enjoy their meat and potatoes and quantity versus quality would be very satisfied but if, like me, you like variety and something that you would not normally prepare at home, then this isn't the place to go and it is quite pricey.
