Oakville Blueprinting is a full-service printing shop that has operated out of the bustling Kerr Village neighbourhood of Oakville for 40 years. The name is a tribute to the business's early stages when in 1976, Mike and Pam Monkhouse began making blueprints for architects using a table top blueprinter. Today, the shop's clean, contemporary exterior has a hint of retro and is reflective of how this family business is run — with traditional hands-on customer service and cutting-edge digital printing technology .
Customers who walk through the door are often greeted with a smile by one of the Monkhouse children — Katie, Daniel, Jenn or Michael. They grew up in and around the business so it was a natural progression for each of them to take part in the day-to-day operations as the company grew.
“It’s awesome to work together,” says Katie Monkhouse, one of Mike's daughters. “Our parents still run the company but each of us plays a role in the day-to-day operations. We are very fortunate to be able to work together.”
