Live in Toronto? Go elsewhere
Those of us who have experienced severe financial problems know how rough a road it is. You feel small, embarrassed, like a failure. I was no different. So once I decided to seek help, I reached out to Hoyes, Michalos and Associates. I spoke with a very helpful and informative gentleman over the phone who set up an appointment for me with Sandra in the Toronto office. My experience couldn't have been any worse. I got to the office and was greeted by a friendly receptionist and asked to have a seat. It seems the appointment ahead of me ran long, and what I could hear coming out of the trustees office was making me feel nervous. Sandra was yelling at the previous client so loud I could hear everything where I was sitting. It made me feel uncomfortable and awkward. When it was my turn to meet with her, she made me feel even worse than I did before walking in her door, which I didn't think was possible. She seemed to be very judgmental, talked down to me, and came across as rude overall. Needless to say, I took my business elsewhere. If you're looking for bankruptcy services in Toronto, I suggest you go find someone else.

Thank you for taking the time to write your review - while I was disappointed to hear that your experience with our Toronto office was less than helpful, I appreciate that you took the time to let us know how we did. I have spoken to Sandra, one of most experienced trustees, and she expressed regret at your comments. Our firm prides itself on taking a more humane and respectful approach to our clients, so your comments are being taken quite seriously. It is quite difficult to sit down with a total stranger and explain all of your financial problems - I hope that you were able to find a solution to your difficulties. We have helped over 30,000 individuals sort thorugh their financial problems, I am sorry we were unable to assist you.
