In short; good food, great service, great price and clean bathrooms a must for me as this sets the tone for the entire restaurant. Clean bathroom = Clean kitchen

I have been to many different sushi restaurants in the Hamilton area but I always find myself returning to Atami Sushi. The service is always speedy and friendly, bringing much enjoyment to each and every visit. Even in the busy hours; the servers are always friendly as well as helpful when needed. When I walk into the restaurant I am never waiting for than a few moments before being addressed by an employee. The food is always amazing; coming out quickly, tasting very fresh and well put together. Whenever there has been an issue; the staff is always very quick to fix the problem and exceed customer service expectations. I really love their deep fried items as they do not even compare to any other place. The quality of their food is amazing; bringing me back for more every time!
My family and I decided to take my dad for the first time yesterday. Needless to say; he had an awesome time with lots of laughs and some really amazing food! He enjoyed trying new foods as well as spending that quality time with family. With this positive experience I can guarantee return visits from all of us.
I've been going to Atami as my choice of restaurant since opening a few years ago. It's a great sushi bar, and the service is very good. Prices have risen since opening, which is a mild turn off. Sometimes I do find that conveniently certain items do not show up after ordering them, but it's easy enough to ask a waitress or even re-order them. The waitresses have character and are very good people. Several of me and my friends go their frequently and we are always warmly greeted. The one waitress (Queenie) has a great sense of humor, and has even helped pull off a birthday prank (her idea!).
We had the all-you-can-eat for dinner. The food was generally great, the service was EXCELLENT, and I liked the atmosphere. I think overall this was a great place to come to eat, but there were a few things I would change. For example, the manager was not very friendly to us the whole time we were eating. Another is we were told that when we tip our server, they do not get to keep the money, instead it goes directly to the management, which is not fair in my opnion. I would recommend doing what we did and handing the tip right to the server. Those few things aside, I might consider coming back here to eat again.
We went for the All You Can Eat for dinner. The food was generally good, very nice presentation. Although, I was surprised to hear from one of the waiters that they do not receive any gratuities. I was told that all the tips go to the owner and the manager. It really surprised me considering the manager was quite rude. I tipped my waitress personally. Will I visit there again? Possibly, but I will be sure to tip the waiter I feel provided the best service.
We had the AYCE for the second time. This time it was dinner.
Long story short, the california rolls were delicious, and then it was downhill from there.
They drastically kill all of their rolls by putting tempura batter in EVERYTHING. I gave them a second chance with almost 1 year between visits, but we both left very disappointed again.
Quality of fish and presentation were nice, i must admit.
HOpefully, they wise up and make some changes to the recipes.
This was our first visit to Atami. The atmosphere was nice, clean and fresh looking.
I had the chicken with vegetables teriyaki (served with rice) and miso soup. My wife had the sushi combo (with miso soup and green salad and we shared a tempura appetizer.
The chicken teriyaki was a little bland, but good. Miso was okay also a tad bland. The tempura was excellent. Nice and crispy and tasty.
My wife thoroughly enjoyed her sushi. She said the salmon sushi just melted in her mouth. The miso soup could have been a bit hotter. Someone was always around re-filling her teacup. Employees were all pleasant and understood everything that we asked.
On this night it seem that once they got busy, service became a little slower, but I would recommend giving this restaurant a try.
For all you can eat, this is amazing, you write down what you want and they bring it to you!!! We sit there for over an hour and eat so much and everything is so fresh and tasty!!! The place is so clean and nice too. The servers always make sure you have a beverage and that your empty plates are off your table, it is awesome!!! They have the best sushi I ever tried!!!
this place is very clean great value for the money all you can eat lunch for two for 30 dollars.My parents have been there too and said it was fantastic
I found the quality of the food wasn't the greatest. But the restaurant wasn't open for that long. Perhaps they have adjusted.
The part of sushi that keeps me hooked is the variety of textures and flavors in each piece. At Atami, i found the flavors weren't very distinct.
I will go back, but i'm not in a hurry too, with so many other sushi restaurants out there.

This was our first time to this restaurant. Immediatly we were greated by several staff. Very friendly. The service was fast, the atmosphere was elegant. The variety of food was wonderful. We were very pleased with the food, the service, and price. We will definitly be going back to this restaurant.
This sushi place is pretty much the best sushi place on the mountain, although, i dont know how to get there by bus i make people drive me to get this sushi.
The sashimi pieces are HUGE and very fresh. There also isnt a limit on how much sashimi you can have, so, we went all out.
i like the idea that you write down the number of the roll or piece of sushi and how many you want. They then take the paper write it down for the chefs and bring it back to your table. So if something comes to your table and you didnt order it, you can tell them and show them on the paper you didn't order it.
All, in all, the food was amazingly good and i will return.
The only negative things i have to say about this sushi place is:
- Not filling the water fast enough
- they did not tell us how many pieces of deep fried tofu was in one order, we ordered 2 'deep fried tofu' and ended up with 8 pieces.
- The salmon rose, or 'salmon flower' falls apart when you pick it up with your chopsticks
- the edamame portions are too small.
but other then that i will definitely go back.
