For kids to grow up to be strong, independent adults, they need a solid childhood. These building blocks can start well before the first day of school by introducing children to structure and education at an early age. Vanessa Herle strives to help each child reach his or her potential at Mindful Moments, the preschool and before/after-school care centre she owns.
There’s one aspect Vanessa is particularly proud of: “We offer a lot of enrichment programs,” she says. With these, children get an opportunity to take part in activities such as music, yoga, gym and dance, allowing them to challenge both their minds and bodies. “In our before/after-school program we have a strong focus on recreation,” says Vanessa. “Any time we have a school-out day, we go on a lot of community field trips and visit local parks.”
