Art has always been a part of Silver Dave’s life and he knew he would be at his best running his own business. “It allows me more creativity,” he says. “I have a unique way of doing things, so I like being my own boss.” His love of art and entrepreneurship converged perfectly for him when he opened Oddball Tattoo in 2011.
Oddball Tattoo prides itself on its custom designs tailored to the personality of the customer. That means the artists get to know each client before deciding on a final image. “What is important is talking to the person and finding out what unique tattoo they want," says Dave, "and creating a tattoo that’s just for them.”
Oddball Tattoo’s slogan is ‘Creatively Custom, Personably Inked,” which describes Dave’s philosophy about what he puts on his clients. “I’m creating a beautiful piece of artwork that they’ll be proud to wear for the rest of their life,” he says. “I respect that this is going on their body forever.”
