Shopping for gifts, jewellery in particular, can be difficult. It can be disheartening when an activity that should bring you joy, such as giving a gift, results in frustration. Enter Beaden, the shop where customized jewellery is born from the shopper’s imagination.
“It’s the creativity that really makes us happy; it’s why we opened the store,” says Lawrence Wilton, who co-owns the store with his sister, Jillian McDowell. Beaden carries an array of beads that Lawrence and Jillian have collected over time: some rare and discontinued, lots of semi-precious stones, and even some handmade clay beads that Lawrence makes himself. Many of their pieces can no longer be found elsewhere anymore, that’s how extensive their collection has become.
