It's less common these days for men to pop into the barber for a shave and a quick trim. Or at least it was less common until Michael Campbell decided to bring that era back. Chin Whiskey Shearing & Shaving Company launched in 2014 with the look and feel of a traditional “Old West” barber — only one that offers modern styles and techniques.

“I wanted something that went back to the 1920s and traditional barbering,” says Michael. “I'm passionate about the older styles, the tradition, and bringing it in to the modern. What attracted me was having something different while still being trendy.”

Michael had the vision to make his dream a reality. “I've taken the space from a dusty corner in what was 'fashion central' Calgary,” he says. “It was a small area and I had a designer redo the renovation to match my vision.”
