“I’m not a girly girl, but I love working with flowers as a medium,” says Erica Gosling. She's a florist and the owner of Rhosyn Floral, a flower shop that occupies a corner of Inglewood’s Livery Shop in the red barn behind The Nash. “Rhosyn’s floral design has a loose, organic, natural, wild style,” she says. In other words, don’t expect tight bunches of roses by the dozen.
Erica began working with flowers when she got married several years ago. “I started out by doing my own wedding," she says. "I loved it so much that I did weddings for my family and friends." She started Rhosyn Floral in early 2015, after moving to Calgary from British Columbia and apprenticing under a florist here.
When it came to picking a name for her shop, Erica settled on Rhosyn, which is Welsh for “rose.” Not only is it appropriate from a product point of view, it’s also a reference to Erica’s Welsh background and her own middle name – Rose.
