Community is the main concept behind Madison’s 12|12, an Inglewood restaurant and coffee shop that features craft nachos, healthy salads and comfortable space for co-working. Developed by co-owners Jared Salekin and Pieter Boekhoff, this innovative space is more than just a place to have a drink and enjoy a meal – Madison’s 12|12 ignores the traditional restaurant model and offers an entirely new experience.
“We’ve essentially made a hybrid of a café and a restaurant, to bring people in from the early morning and let them stay here until we close,” Jared says. “Most places want constant turn-over, so they make it uncomfortable on purpose. We took the opposite approach.” Madison’s 12|12 provides comfortable seating, high-speed internet and power outlets at each table – the perfect spot for entrepreneurs or small companies that have outgrown working from home, but can’t yet afford dedicated office space. The concept of co-working is gaining popularity in cities like San Francisco and New York and this space is among the first of its kind in Calgary.
