I was nervous enough to try lash extensions... and I'm so glad I got them done at Glow. The staff was very professional, the salon was trendy, and I'm extremely satisfied with my lashes... In fact, I'm looking forward to getting my hair done there too!
This hair salon is like the show Cheers, you walk in and everyone knows your name! Very personable, trendy staff and atmosphere in a small community. Great cut too! I've been to 3 of the hairdressers there. Just had to mention, it's pretty rare to find customer service like this now in Calgary!
Tamara and her girls have the best personable and professional approach for this gem Salon in Cranston. I have enjoyed my experiences of getting my awesome gel nails done in funky colours every time. I also had a great style and cut by Kinga!!!!
The Salon has a fresh new appeal that is trendy and friendly...love your coffee and music all the time. The staff believes in safety and if you appreciate cleaniness, it's a huge focus.

I have been going to Glow since it opened, it was the only place in Calgary that did a sculptured nail and not tips.

Walking into Glow Hair & Nails is like a breath of fresh air!!! Aside from loving my gel nails, Glow offers a great selection of colors for my nails, and Tamara is always keeping me up to date as to what is in style... it's a pleasure chatting with Tamara and the other staff at the salon!!! It's like a social event for me!!! Kinga does a fantastic job on my hair and if I ever need some other services done as well such as an eyebrow wax or a pedicure its a one stop place for me to go!!! Oh, and the receptionist Elise, aside from being super friendly and knowledgable, she makes THE BEST COFFEE EVER!!!!!!!! I have to say that the Glow Nails Salon and the staff who work there get full marks from me.
Right from the beginning I have felt and been treated more like a friend than a customer. I make no bones about the fact that am a very fussy person about my nails and hair and they bend over backwards to make sure I am totally pleased and NEVER do they make me feel awkward about my being fussy!

I am new to the city, and when it was time to get a cut/colour, I didn't know where to go. So, I found this business on yellowpages.ca. The manager and the staff seemed fun and competent, but the gentleman that did my hair was anything but competent. I have (sorry, I had) long hair, and I just needed a trim and a colour. Right from the get go, Harold seemed unsure of what he was doing, and not confident in his approach to cutting my hair. He was clumbsy and unorganized. I asked how long he has been doing hair, and he assured me that it has been a year... 2" turned into 4"-5" and my long locks are no more. The staff assured me that the hair on the floor was only 2.5" long, but he must've cut it twice, because my hair that was halfway down my back is now shoulder legnth! Another lady came over to finish the cut because I was so freaked out, and she did a very good job. My hair doesn't look horrible, but it is definately not what I asked for.. The colour is good..
These women make a great, fun group. I felt at home the second I walked in. I was there the entire day and had a full spa day! I got to know every person there, they are very welcoming and the owner even bought me lunch because I was there for so long. A great experience, thanks for a great day! And I have to say, I look absolutely amazing!
My daughter and i have been coming to have our nails done here for a couple of years now and we would never ever go anywhere else. I get so many comments on m y nails and people wanting to know where I get them done. The price is right and the girls in the salon are super friendly and welcoming. It is a fun visit and I look forward to it every month. I would highly recommend this business to anyone looking for a great done on their nails, hair, esthetics. i was booked with Keenga at Glow Hair and Nails after having my hair fried at another salon in the area. when i went in i was very upsetmy ends were fried, it looked like i had 4 layers of colours and there were chunks out of the back. Keenga provided me with a solution and discussed all options with me. i absolutely love my hair and cant wait to see how it looks once all this damage is gone from the other place. it was reasonably priced and Keenga worked with me to find a solution i would be happy with rather then just chop it all off like another salon told me i would have to do, and i definitely am happy! i will be back for sure!
I personally get my nails done every month at Glow salon, the girls there are friendly, funny and seem to sincerely care about their clients.
Regarding the gift certificate situation, I happened to be in the salon that day, when this took place. It is not up to a new business, to redeem previous GC's. It is an unfortunate situation, that a complaint should be filed under the old owner's name. There was no way for this owner to even tell how much was on the GC, because they have a whole new system in place. So anyone with an old GC could potentially lie about how much is on the GC.
It is a bad situation, but if this is the case, this gentleman's wife should be looking into finding the old owner, not blaming the new one.
Glow Hair is awesome and I have recommendede everyone I know to go there.

The new salon Glow Hair & Nails was easy to find. The owner was very polite and made sure while waiting to have my nails done, I was offered a choice of beverage.
I was lucky enough to have Tamara do my nails for me and she was very professional and courteous. She answered all my questions and found her to be very knowledgeable.
I will definitely be returning to this salon to have my nails done.
Anna at Glow recently put highlights in my hair. She did the best colour ever! The cut was awesome too!!!

I've gotta say I really enjoyed the hair cut I received at Glow Hair. I basically only get my head shaved, but it was as good as I could have asked for. Many of the salons I had been to in the past left little bits of hair on my head in annoying places, but this job was top notch. The location is really convenient and the girls were extremely nice. I'll be back for sure and will absolutely be recommending the place to my friends in the area.
Not really sure I can comment on the whole scenario the other reviewer decided to complain about with the gift cards since I don't know the whole situation... but if a salon this size (that is obviously not a franchise chain) goes under new management, it is certainly not up to the new owner to eat the cost of old gift cards. The old owner could have sold thousands and thousands of dollars of those things - that's not the problem of new management, sorry. You're doing a disservice to the rest of your community by asking them to avoid a pretty classy business.
Finally a local business that places some importance on customer service! This was my first time to Glow since the arrival of the new staff and they are all great! It is close to home, I like the open at home feel they are providing and my highlights are great! Thanks! Tiff
