If you’re on the hunt for a last-minute dessert and grab-and-go goodies from the supermarket just won’t do, take a look at what The Cupcake Shoppe has on its counters and cake tiers.
Satisfying sweet teeth and delighting passerbys’ eyes since 2003, the Yonge and Eglinton store was one of the first cupcake shops in the city and has since opened a branch in Vaughan. “We sell 12 flavours of cupcakes every day,” says owner Suzanne Cooper. “Six are on the menu permanently and the rest are flavours we rotate on a weekly basis.”
And what flavours! Close to 30 varieties are on the menu, including the likes of vanilla with vanilla and strawberry swirled butter cream, chocolate with mango butter cream, chocolate with cookies and cream frosting...you get the idea. “Our cupcakes are handmade from fresh ingredients daily. They’re nut free and we can do gluten free as well. All the ingredients are natural and we use purees and extracts for colouring,” says Suzanne.
