For meats and cheese served up with a French flavour, head to Côte de Boeuf on Ossington Avenue.
Having run a popular restaurant in the locale for several years, owner Teo Paul decided it would be a great idea to open a store that stocked supplies found in his recipes. To this end, Côte de Boeuf butchery was born in 2012.
The shop features meats such as Scotch mountain beef along with pantry staples, charcuterie, ready-to-heat-and-eat meals and canned items all prepared on the premises.
French and Ontario cheeses are also on the shelves with the manager, a former cheese buyer in France, contributing his first-hand experience with Gallic delicacies to the product range. “Customers love the cheeses we stock for entertaining at home or using in picnics,” says Teo.
Côte de Boeuf also accepts reservations for an evening of fine cuisine. Diners looking for a little “je ne sais quoi” can enjoy private meals on the Parisian-style premises. Off-site catering is another option, and the butchery maintains a regular roster of clients including both small and large businesses.
