For Daniel Cohen, the entrepreneur behind Arts Market, life is simple; you make your own opportunities. That’s exactly what he did after several years of travel that saw him browse through arts markets as far North as The Yukon and as far South as Argentina. One thing he learned during his travels was that creatives and customers love markets and he wondered why there wasn’t such a thing in Toronto. “I make fun T-shirts and postcards” he says. “When I came back home, I went around and spoke to different venues about showing my work but it was all so complicated.”
There was too much red tape for Daniel’s liking. “When you’re an artist or artisan, you simply want to have a place to sell your work and a deal which is as straightforward as possible. To be successful, artists need to get out in front of customers,” says Daniel. The Arts Market makes selling your work easy and convenient.
