Drove from Thunder Bay to Timmins and read about the Pizza and Wings looking forward to trying them. The hours on Tuesday stated 11-8, we arrive at 7:15 and dining room was closed only open for takeout which is not clear on web. Disappointed and moved on, very misleading!
If you visit Don's Pizzeria, you will experience an AUTHENTIC pizza experience. You can tell by the quality of the pizza and the flavours that this place is a true labour of love. This pizza place has a clear passion for taste! I will be back again. :)
We visited Don's for the first time at the recommendation of a friend. We were visiting Timmins for the weekend and Don's was a great start for our Friday night dinner. We started with cheese sticks that were crispy just as i like them. We then had the best wings i have ever had with delicious thin crusted pizza. I lived in Timmins in the 70'ies and it was always a treat to have a Don' Pizza. My daughter lives in Timmins now and we made a quick trip to her new house earlier this week and we needed a quick bite. The question was posed where and what do we want to order? I said Don's was always great so we stopped in and ordered two pizzas for delivery to the house. The price was exhorbant some $55.00 and on top of that they were horrible. The worst pizza we have ever endured. The crust was thin, hard and dry and the pizza was tasteless except for what appearred to be cajun spice all over one of them. It was a complete waste of $60.00 and the tradition has been broken. I will never buy Pizza from Don's Pizzaria in Timmins again.

This was byyyyyyyyyyyy far the worst pizza I have ever eaten in my life. It was dry and tasteless and way, I mean way over priced. This will be the last time I ever order from them and suggest that you do the same.
Also the service was terrible they didnt do anything to accomodate us when we called and complained about the dollar store type pizza we received.
I agree w/ marc .. I went to Matagami PS .. R.Ross Beattie, and THVS .. Don was always there for our class .. great food and great value .. i remember him from being a little kid picking up pizzas for our grade 4-5 class.. he is/ was a great guy .. didn't know he had passed on .. Timmins lost one of the Great Ones that day .. J.
hey listen up i work for dons pizzaria for 10 years
and now i live in brithis columbia . i have eaten pizza all over canada and also al over the usa and let me tell you ,that it brake my heart to here you guys knock down dons pizza , if dons was still alive rest his soul . he would tell all of you to jump off the matagamie bridge . i am not sure if it is bebe that i running his store now but it cant be half as bad as what all of you are saying i would drive down form bc to timmins just to eat a slice if could have the time off of work and if i could afford to do somthing so crazy like that .. in the past 15 year i have yet to eat a slice of pizza that is even close to being as good as a dons pizza.. my comment to you is if you dont like the service or the food then dont go back you bounch of morons
We ordered a 50$ order which included wings. The wing sauce comes on the side. When delivered they had given the wrong sauce (hot sauce instead of sweet and sour). When i called to notify them of the mistake, they offered to send another sauce which may arrive in 45 minutes. Afer an intense conversation on customer service they offered to credit me for one sauce. Not only did this mistake ruin my dinner. I was serving this to friends from out of town.... yes the poor customer service and lack of principle (as they should have credited my wings)

I'm a regular customer of Don's Pizzeria, I can understand how people are commenting on the new ownership and the apparent change in the pizza but as a regular customer of Don's I know that the dough has never been as good as it is now, pizza's have been consistant comparing to way back when depending who was working you either got a good or bad pizza. Sure the service isn't always the greatest but they are short in staff. I think that the staff is doing the best they can for the amount of business this resturant has.
A Don's Special pizza is more expensive than other pizzeria pizzas, and I dont' mind paying the extra, but it seems that over the last few years, the toppings on the pizza are vanishing. It used to be that when you ordered a Don's Special, the toppings made it all the way to the edge of the pizza, and would fall off the pizza when you picked up a slice. If you are going to cut down on the toppings, bring down the price, because the value is no longer there. Make it the way good old Don used to!
The best pizza in town. Hand made crispy crust, fantastic Italian sausage and loaded with fresh mushrooms. Along with a tasty sauce and mounds of cheese, what more could you want!

The food is amazing - definately the best place to order a pizza; however, to dine in was not as pleasant. Service was mediocre, we were never asked for our drinks to be replenished, and I could smell cigarette smoke coming from the direction of the kitchen (its a non-smoking establishment). Regardless, they have the best pizza, I guess I will just order in next time.
