It may be called The Grey House in name today, but customers have been coming to this Oshawa fixture for so long that they can remember the original slate-coloured building from which the present-day store took its name.
The Grey House opened its doors in 1968 and was located downtown until it moved and was taken over by John and Cindy Masson in 1996. "We have people who've been coming here for furniture longer that we’ve owned the store," grins John. John and Cindy pay homage to the memory of the original grey house with their logo: an artist’s drawing of the original store premises that started a local legend.
Valued old-time customers and shoppers who are venturing into the 5,000 square foot showroom for the first time are privy to an eclectic mix of quality bedroom, living and dining sets, textiles, chandeliers, dried flowers, prints, soft furnishings and throws to choose from.
