Since they've moved to the new location, their prices have almost doubled. Chips were stale. Fajitas don't taste the same, it's got no flavour, it's more bland. Very disappointed. Looks like not only have they changed all their servers but the cook as well.
Complimentary bottomless bowl of warm Nacho's... heck of a way to start. I recommend ordering the spicy cheese dip to go with it (it's hot). The steak was done perfectly (medium rare, more rare than medium), but it wasn't seasoned... AT ALL! I've never eaten a striploin w/out it. Sauteed mushrooms were out of a can which was incredibly dissapointing. They do make a great ceasar and the waitress was cute, fast & friendly. Ask them about the steak-eating contest... it's a great story.
I've been going to TLC since the late 80's. They've always had the best Fajitas bar none!! (Lonestar doesn't compare) The place was a little run down a few years ago, but now it's had a nice makeover, with a new bar, plenty of LCD HDTVs and two gigantic big screens! Great place to watch a game or the UFC (make reservations on a UFC night or you won't get a seat) Now back to the Fajitas, they're amazing, mouth watering, juicy!! The marinade they use is unparalleled! And they're cheaper in price, than most places. You get free cheese refills, tomatoes, sauteed onions and pepper, sour cream, rice, beans, guacamole and tortillas, all for 33 bucks for a pound of beef or chicken! The chicken is little dry, but the beef is the best ever!! They have all you can eat Fajitas for 18 bucks on Mondays!!!!!!!!!!! And 25% off a pound of Fajitas on Tuesday! It's delicious, cheap, free cheese and pop refills, what more can you ask for!! I tried the fillet mignon and it's average at best. Just stick to the fajitas!!! Oh they give you complimentary nachos and salsa to start so you don't even need to order an appetizer. P.S. The service is good, probably four stars, but the restaurant (Fajitas) deserves five plus stars!!
Food was alright, try the nachos. Service could be improved.
WE had been here approximately 2 yrs ago for business and things didn't seem that great. I didn't think I'd be back but recently a few friends and I decided to go back for old times sake and we found out that the Texas Longhorn was now under new management and I'm glad to say that my expereince was extremely better. We were welcomed at the door by a smiley face, sat promptly and our server was very pleasant. Our drinks came quickly and so did our food. THe quality of the food was definately back to the quality that the Longhorn was originally famous for. Since the change, the place has definately taken on a new life with everyone walking around in a pleasnt mood. Our server informed us that the menu was being updated, the quality of the food was back including making their own home made tortillas again for the fajitas. There will be some new renovations to freshen the place up and overall we were all very impressed and will be returning as regulars....Well done and glad to see you back!
This used to be such a great place. Since the new owner took over, the place has gone downhill. Our server today was invisible, did not come by to ask how the meal was or if we would like a drink refill. He took forever to bring us more tortillas and then charged us for them although the menu online clearly states free refill on tortillas. We were overcharged for the beer. This used to be one of my favourite places to eat.
I used to frequent this locale maybe 10 years ago and it was out of this world. The restaurant was always packed, and maybe this should have been a clue when I stepped foot in it now. My friend and I were there around 7P.M. and were the sole diners. First, the drinks; a margarita worse than this one I've never tasted. It was akin to a Lemon-Lime Gatordade with a splash of tequila. HORRIBLE! I was tempted to jump behind the bar and make one myself. The food deserves one(two?) words: SUB-PAR! Cold, rubbery and tasteless chicken that I then wrapped in a stale tortilla smeared with the blandest of guacamoles. Need I say more? Save your money and stay home.
We came in starving that we finished our complimentary chips and salsa quickly which our server kindly replenished. But then, we had to wait for over half an hour for our meal. Our server dissapeared!!! However, another server was more than willing to attend to us (after we called her) and later on, the manager/owner came to us and apologized (and even compensated us for our long wait), we thought that was really nice of him, seeing that he was so busy. Our first server came back at the end of the meal though, but didn't apologize...hmmm. that was dry. The food was okay, I thought it was a bit cold , probably from having been sitting at the kitchen for half an hour. I found the place needed a bit of freshening up. Its quite comfortable...I probably would go back to try their breakfast.
New owner has taken over the place, and since that occurred the food and ambiance hasn't been nearly as good. My family used to visit quite frequently, usually more than once a month. Now it is maybe 2-3 times a year. The wings are usually a pretty good choice here, they are about the only thing that still consistently impresses me. The steak is often flavourless which is disappointing given that it's supposedly their specialty. The beef ribs I had recently were clearly cooked very quickly so although they arrived hot they were very tough. Beef ribs need to be slow-cooked for the best result. Service is usually average for the type of restaurant. Most of the staff are from the local high schools so you get the level of maturity that comes with that (as a previous reviewer said, goofing off in the kitchen, etc.). Sometimes you do get lucky and get someone a with a bit more experience. The ambiance is just not up to what it used to be. The place needs a major overhaul and they need to tear down the wall between the bar and the restaurant. The wall was added back when smoking was confined to bars only. Now that smoking is not permitted at all, they leave the doors propped open but it still completely separates the spaces in an unappealing way. I don't think any money has been spend on renovating this restaurant since the first time I visited in 2000. I guess the value is ok, you do get what you pay for; but you can probably do better elsewhere until this new owner gets the place back to what it used to be.
Complimentary nachos and salsa to start you off, no appetizers required! Drinks followed - pop was bottomless at no extra charge. Carne Asada skirt steak is reason we frequent Texas Longhorn. There is no other steak in the GTA that can compete. Was cooked as requested. I've been with numerous different guests, and whether you have it blue or well done - it's always tender and juicy. Can't figure out what's in the marinade though. If you've never tried it - it's worth the trip. The steak fajitas use Carne Asada steak too. Huge portions, and fair prices. Atmosphere is casual, friendly and very clean. A+++ . THANKS!
Came in on a Saturday afternoon, when it was relatively quiet. Ordered our food - I dislike sour cream so asked for no sour cream with my fajitas, and perhaps some extra salsa instead. My partner ordered burritos. The appetizer was good, but as we approached the entree, our server (who, incidentally whenever talking to us had her hands in her pockets throughout) brought out the fajita kit - with the smallest portios of cheese, tomato and lettuce - and covered in sour cream. There was no salsa at all, never mind additional. The fajitas came with THREE small tortillas for a $14 meal, I asked for two more and a charge for these was added to the bill later - was not told at the time about the charge. Our server went AWOL for long periods, we could hear her laughing and joking around in the kitchen, so we had to hail another server - who huffed and puffed and made it perfectly clear he didn't feel he should have to help us. This is the same server who brought out our appetizer - and swiped away the complimentary chips and salsa without even asking if we were done. The food wasn't too too bad, but for the money the portion sizes were tiny, and to charge for extra tortillas when you only get three to begin with was an insult. We could have overlooked this but the poor, unwelcoming service will ensure we never go back.
Breakfast is only served on weekends 11-3. They have a nice steak and eggs for S8.95. Lots of other great stuff. But that's our favorite.
what can i say it was tender, juicy & grilled to perfection. service was even better. fun atmosphere with a rustic look. Favorate place for the whole family.
This is one of my favorite places, although it could be because it's rare to find a place that serves enchiladas and burritos. My favorite part of the dish was the beef enchilada because they use steak, whereas it's pretty common to use shredded beef. the rice and beans were standard out-of-a-can quality. We got there about 20 minutes before it closed and didn't feel rushed at all. The people were super friendly.
We ordered the steak and chicken fajita and hot wings. The fajita skillet mostly had onions with the steak and chicken. Only one piece of red and green pepper on the whole tray. The steak part was ok but the chicken was dry. The rice and refried beans lacked seasoning and flavour. The hot wings tasted good but were more like mediums in other restaurants. The place could use an overhaul and a good cleaning. Years ago this place had good food and was busy. Now even on a Saturday night it is not even busy anymore.
The fries weren't very good although the portion was huge. The steak was cooked as we requested but it was just a poor cut. Very tough. The service was terrible and the place looks like a cafeteria. Although the photos of the breakfast looked intriguing we won't visit again.
Our food was fantastic and the service was even better. A guy called Pat served us and never missed a beat. The only problem we had was coming close to runing out of the nachos and salsa they give you complementary while you wait. He came back and promptly filled it again for us when he noticed we were running low, before I even said anything. Drinks were replaced before we ran out. This man worked for his tip for sure! The steak was a custom size and came grilled to perfection, the veggies served with it were cooked but still had a snap to them the way I like them. My sister loved the chiminganga, my brother loved the Burrito said it was nice and cheesey and my sister in law despite loving the fajitaas couldn't come close to finishing them so she had leftovers to take home. Portion sizes for all meal were more that adequate.
This might be the best Steak I have ever had. The way it just melts in your mouth is worth it. The baked Potatoe was the size of an infants head and was filled to busting with Sour Cream and bacon. Also like the fact you get free Homemade Tortillas and Salsa. Both are very tasty.
Tiny, itsy bitsy side dishes of sour cream, lettuce, 'salsa', and even jalepenos. Just terrible, waste of time and money.
Great ambience. We thought we had found a gem when we walked in the door but the food was terrible. The sauce used was like a barbeque sauce not a salsa and the cheese sauce was like the kind you get on your nacho chips at the movies. Inside the burrito, the chicken was dry and flavourless. I complained about the sauce and nothing was done. I asked for some salsa, scraped off the bbq sauce and put on the salsa. This at least made it edible. Very disappointing.
