Tub Liner Installation??
We needed some work done in our bathroom. Originally we were going to have the shower re-tiled and sourced numerous quotes for this work to be done. Then when it came time to book a date, the price went up. We then decided to amend the original plans and have a acrylic tub wall installed as a temporary solution. We decided to use Dave from Royal Flush Renovations....he had a competitive price and the reviews I could find were positive. To start off with he showed up late for the job, not a good start to the day and I should have known this would be a sign of things to come. I left him to do the work and checked in a couple times to see how things were going and did not notice any immediate problems with the work. When he notified me that he was finished I came in to have a look and noticed that there were gaps where the tub surround pieces come together. He assured me that it was sealed on the inside and that it was not a problem but I insisted he sealed it from the outside. So he gave it one quick sweep with the caulking gun in an attempt to seal the gap. I thought no big deal, I can always remove the caulk and redo it myself, since he seemed incapable of doing it properly. The next day after closer inspection I noticed the liner was not sealed properly at any point and not even where it meets the tub. We called and left a message for him to call us back and after 24 hours he did not respond. I decided to go ahead and do the fixes myself but when I removed the old caulking I noticed something strange. The liner wall was coming apart. It turned out he neglected to remove the protective finish from the acrylic before installing the pieces. Are you kidding me!! I could not believe it. I finished the repairs myself and left the tub to dry. About a week later one of the seams popped and the liner had to be re-glued and sealed yet again. We will have to see how long it takes before the next problem occurs.
