Went there because kids eat free. What I didn't know was that the best thing about dinner was going to be leaving. DO NOT ORDER THE CHEESECAKE - yuck. Meals were bland, without flavour, served at room temperature, and overpriced. Will not eat here again for dinner - maybe it would be a different experience for breakfast.
For a restaurant that is suppose to specialize in breakfast it was pretty bad! Not only was the food less than just ok the service was terrible. The waitress was fine but our table of 5 people got their meals at separate times. She brought 2 meals and part of my meal which was sausages first, then 15 minutes later brought the other 3 meals!! When we complained the manager said it was because one of us ordered steak with his eggs!! If you like poor quality food, high prices, and terrible service then you will love Golden Griddle! I suspect a lot of people have discovered this too as the place was near empty!!!
We made the mistake os going there for weekend buufet.. There was no sign stating price.the food was either cold overdone or both. The worst part was when the bill came and it cost $70.00 for 2 adults and 2 children..we will never go back

We made the mistake of going to dinner here, two in our party were seniors and limited to what food they could eat and reccomended we all go there as they have other than breakfast items on their menu..The food was of poor quality, cold, and the service was worse than any place I have ever been..the first dinner served was finished before the last was served..items were forgotten to be served but still included on the bill..not a good dining experiance

For a weekend breakfast fix, The GG is the only place. Good coffee, real OJ, eggs cooked the way you ask them for. Service quick and efficient.
Little pricier then average, but well worth it.
If you crave a Canadian Breakfast, GG never disappoints.

Its the Golden Griddle for crying out loud...how can you not know what to expect from the Golden Griddle if you live in or have visited frequently the area of Southern Ontario? :)
Lets face it...its a place that specializes in breakfast type fare. Yes they do offer some other things, but the focus has been and most likely always will be breakfast 24 hours a day.
A few things to keep in mind:
1) The food isn't outstanding, but its almost always of reasonable quality.
2) This isn't a steakhouse...so when you order the steak and eggs...don't be surprised when the steak is either overdone/underdone/or contains a fair amount of gristle.
3) It isn't cheap...but it isn't insanely priced either...the key here is timing...to get the most out of your money...go to the Griddle during one of their "All you can eat" buffets (I think they are primarily on the weekends as I recall)...then...go hungry and stock up on all the bacon, sausage, eggs, pancakes, etc...that you can.
4) If memory serves, their blintzes <SP>/crepes are pretty decent.
Oh...and if you get them on a good day during the buffet...the waffles with whipped cream or strawberries aren't a bad way to finish off your brunch.
